Vanity Fair Brands a division of Fruit of the Loom, an independent, wholly owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Inc. & leading international basic apparel company, has an immediate opening for a Field Merchandiser – Brooklyn/Kings Plaza/Valley Stream, NY

Merchandiser/Retail Specialist needed for National Apparel Brand. Full Time 40 hours weekly, year-round position. Retail background preferred. Job includes travel within a 40-mile radius of the Kings Plaza/Valley Stream/Oceanside, NY area calling on department stores. Responsibilities include selling to the consumer, providing product education to store associates, general merchandising and re-stocking sales floor, setting up promotional events and writing thorough marketplace recaps.

To build and increase sales associate, store management and consumer awareness of Vanity Fair Brands product. To promote VFB by aggressively educating and selling in-store and through networking with major organizations. To obtain and maintain the dominant position on the selling floor. To maintain a thorough working knowledge of VFB and the competition through business analysis and communications.


Job duties include general merchandising, stocking floor, setting up promotional events, providing product education to store associates, and writing marketplace recaps. Retail background preferred.

Required Experience

  • 3-5 Years as a Field Merchandiser or similar position in retail environment
  • Ability to coach and train peers

Required Qualifications

Minimum High School diploma or equivalent required.

Must be able to travel daily within region; travel will be reimbursed.

Must have reliable transportation.

Must be able to sit, stand, bend and reach.

Computer / smart phone / smart pad access

Effective verbal and written communication skills required
