Description/Job Summary

Fruit of the Loom, an independent, wholly owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Inc. & leading international basic apparel company, has an immediate opening for an Instructional Designer at its Corporate Office in Bowling Green, KY.Responsible for the development, implementation, and content curation of learning and development solutions into the people-oriented culture of Fruit of the Loom, Inc. Ensures talent development by utilizing adult learning principles and relevant instructional design practices to design, develop, implement, and evaluate effective online learning (e-learning), blended, instructor-led, video and other training content.

Responsibilities/Duties

 

Partners with key organizational stakeholders to develop, deliver, and evaluate training solutions that meet the organization’s strategic imperatives and are in alignment with the organization’s core values.

  • Use adult learning theory and other industry-recognized instructional design practices (ADDIE, SAM, etc.) to develop training content, user and instructor guides, and other talent development material for multiple delivery methods including e-learning, video, instructor-led, webinars, on-the-job training, quick reference guides, podcasts, and blended learning. A variety of software and hardware tools will be utilized for the development of training content.
  • Deliver training content to company employees as needed through the use of e-learning, webinars, instructor-led training, podcasts, video and blended learning.
  • Evaluate training offerings and internal processes through the use of post-training assessments, interviews, and other data collection techniques to ensure continuous improvement, efficiency, and effectiveness of training programs. Partner with manager as needed to conduct higher-level assessments of training effectiveness, including ROI and business impact.

Interface with content vendors to ensure that content selected is the most appropriate for meeting the needs of learners across the organization. Ensure that the library of content is up-to-date, available, and supports the strategic objectives of the organization. Strategize and implement techniques to drive content usage.

Support human resources processes through participating in process improvement projects.

Other duties as assigned by the manager.

Required Experience

Minimum of 2 years of experience in training/human resources required.

Required Qualifications

Four-year college degree or equivalent experience required.

Must have excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Must have excellent computer/application skills, including demonstrable experience with e-learning development tools (Articulate Studio, Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Lectora, etc.).

Must have an understanding of AICC and SCORM specifications as well as an understanding of the xAPI standard.

Must have excellent project and time management skills. PMP certification preferred.

Must have knowledge of instructional design and adult learning principles.

Prefer certification in e-learning instructional design and/or CPLP certification.

Prefer Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification.
