Description/Job Summary

Fruit of the Loom, an independent, wholly owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Inc. & leading international basic apparel company, has an immediate opening for a Process Engineer at its Monroeville, Alabama distribution facility. 
Improves overall Distribution Center performance and cost savings through the application of Six Sigma and Lean Methodologies. Trains, promotes and monitors team involvement in improvement projects to reach DC goals. May support and help drive DC Employee Engagement process.


Provides cost reduction guidance and leadership through engineering projects.  
Evaluates current procedures and practices to develop, recommend and implement process improvements. Records established processes within standard operating procedures and monitors adherence.  
Coordinates and delegates engineering projects to specific process teams. Follows-up with and documents each process team’s progress.  
Analyze SPC charts and present findings and charts to managers in weekly SPC meetings.
Determine how to best improve distribution center processes. Authorized to collect data and share with process improvement teams.
Provide cost effective solutions for complex operational issues to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of goods and services to the customer.

Required Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field. Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred.
Solid understanding of receipt, storage, retrieval, order processing/fulfillment, full case and pick pack order make up, transportation shipping methods and operating procedures.
Must have a strong background in automated inventory control management systems and integration processes. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.

Required Qualifications

4+ years of distribution/logistics work experience, inclusive of 2+ years of process engineering or related experience.
