Description/Job Summary

Manages all aspects of industrial engineering for the DC, including standards development, application and communication.  Engages in various costing and evaluative activities.  May support the DC Safety Manager with DC Ergonomic programs and DC process improvement employee engagement teams.


Develops and conducts work measurement procedures and time and motion studies. Directs or conducts observation and analysis of personnel and work procedures to determine time and motion requirements of job duties. 
Analyzes work study data and equipment specifications to establish time and production standards. Adjusts job specifications and production rates accordingly for incentive paid jobs.
Studies the machinery/equipment needed, the sequence of operations to be performed and the flow of materials.  Assists in developing and exploring potential floor layouts and designs to improve and facilitate product movement throughout the DC. 
Discusses and reviews improved work flow and efficiency initiatives with managers and employees.  Plans training programs to promote efficient personnel utilization and improve work performance.  Promotes safety within the plant.

Required Experience

5+ years of engineering work experience, inclusive of 3+ years of experience in the design, development and evaluation of distribution processes. 

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field; Professional Engineering certification required. 
Strong mathematical skills consistent with the profession of engineering.  
Experience in determining production rates, work flows, through-put analysis and efficiency determinations.  Ability to estimate production time cost and manning requirements. 
Background in statistical and probability analysis. 
Ability to analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements and workflow.
Knowledge of AutoCAD and strong Microsoft Office skills
