Description/Job Summary

The Shift Manager coordinates warehouse and shipping operations for their assigned shift, including the management of teams and production associates.   Responsible for enhancing customer service by resolving operational issues and ensuring the efficient and punctual delivery of goods and services. May promote employee engagement process and facility continuous improvement objectives. 


Oversee and direct daily distribution center functions, including receiving, warehouse storage and retrieval and shipping, while working within operational constraints.  Maintain production standards and ensure load times are met.  Ensure shift HR, payroll and other reports are completed accurately timely.
Train and develop supervisors and crew leads to a high level of performance.
Coordinate inventory stocking status and product replenishment for the departments.
Mediate organizational challenges between administration and department managers and enforce compliance with administrations and operational policy and procedures.
Communicate with Operations Manager to help ensure function and efficiency of core facility operations.
Assist in the improvement of distribution methods utilizing knowledge of product, storage and retrieval methods.
Responsible for the detailed management of aged inventory integrity.
Responsible for the coordination and execution of physical inventory.
Promote safety awareness within the plant.

Required Experience

5+ years of distribution/logistics work experience, inclusive of 2+ years of management experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Professional certification in inventory management or distribution management is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of receipt, storage, retrieval, order processing/fulfillment, full case and pick pack order make up, transportation shipping methods and operating procedures.
  • Strong background in automated inventory managements systems and integration processes.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office.
