Description/Job Summary

Fruit of the Loom, an independent, wholly owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Inc. & leading international basic apparel company, has an immediate opening for a Director Business Operations at it's office in Puerto Rico. This position has an overall Profit and Loss responsibility for our Puerto Rico operation. The responsibility includes insuring that all Sales and Marketing plans are executed according to the overall plan set by our International team in Corporate. Also it includes working with our DC Manager in managing efficiently our Warehouse and maintaining inventory levels within our budget and be able to service our customers. Furthermore, this position has the responsibility of working with our Division Controller closing our Accounting books and sending information for the monthly and annual financial closing.

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Responsible for setting up the annual business plan and budget and working with Corporate Headquarters.
 
  • Manages and expedites the critical decisions required on all new Sales & Marketing initiatives with the Intl corporate departments to ensure timely and accurate development and execution of all new products and/or special promotions.
  • Supervises and directs the In-Country Sales Team’s areas of responsibility and activities to ensure that we are meeting our monthly and annual sales forecast.
  • Responsibility for the submission of the monthly sales forecast. Also responsible for the inventory analysis and transfers that need to be within the financial budget. Furthermore, manages inventory levels to ensure that we are servicing our business.
 
  • Responsible for overseeing Division Controller’s efforts with regards to the overall accounting function which includes monthly financial closings, file of documentation for tax purposes, and payment of local vendors.
  • Overall responsibility for ensuring the entire Sales, Customer Service and Operations team for our Puerto Rico office are meeting the HR policies and performance evaluations for the entire team.

Required Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years International Business experience
  • Fluent in Spanish (both written and verbal)
  • At least two years’ work experience within Fruit of the Loom Office preferred (job requires knowledge of Fruit of the Loom systems and procedures, as well as very frequent and high degree of interaction between a large number of support departments) as well as close working relationship and knowledge of current In-Country Marketing & Sales Teams.
  • This position requires experience and knowledge in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean region. Working knowledge of local Puerto Rico laws in order to comply with the financial closings.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field / or equivalent relevant work experience
  • Solid financial acumen.
  • Strong leadership skills applicable across the organization.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. 
  • Ability to build effective relationships with key stakeholders and interface with various levels of management.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
