Description/Job Summary

Fruit of the Loom, an independent, wholly owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Inc. & leading international basic apparel company, has an immediate opening for an Director Sales at its corporate headquarters in Bowling Green, KY.
The Director of Sales will provide leadership and direction to grow Russell Athletic sales across commonly known retail channels including Department Stores, Mid Tier Stores, Sporting Goods Stores, Club, and others while also having responsibility and oversight over specialty stores (Mall, Boutique, Specialty) and Off Price. This individual will develop, manage and guide sales activities for the Russell Athletic retail division and collaborates closely with other sales leaders that oversee the Mass channel, Business to Business, and Ecommerce. This person is a key stakeholder of the cross functional team and interacts regularly on important business decisions with Marketing, Merchandising, and Brand Communications.   

 

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Lead the long range and annual Retail strategy including plans that drive distribution, velocity, & revenue growth across the specified channels and customers.
  • Establish and work directly with new retail account base to drive profitable sales across all Russell Athletic categories. Build strong relationships with existing and new accounts (account management).
  • Lead, motivate, and develop sales manager(s) over specialty stores to deliver on sales goals, business plans, and company initiatives.
  • Manage fundamentals of the business (account planning, forecasting, account setup, customer service liaison, promotional planning, etc)
  • Work closely with cross functional teams (Marketing, Design, Merchandising, Brand Communication) on strategies, products, and executional plans that deliver sales growth and brand success at new and established retailers.

Required Experience

10+ years of experience in sales account management or a related field.
Experience in Department Store / Mid Tier / Sporting goods channel
Experience in Active, Sportwear, Streetwear apparel.  
Experience in personnel management.
 

Required Qualifications

4-year college degree required, MBA preferred.

Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills.

Excellent organizational skills; specifically as it relates to effectively managing multiple projects, accounts, and product lines.

Excellent management skills; specifically as it relates to employees working in distant locations.

Proficient computer skills; specifically in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
