Description/Job Summary

Fruit of the Loom, an independent, wholly owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Inc. & leading international basic apparel company, has an immediate opening for a Retail Manager at its distribution center Summerville, SC.

The Retail Manager, is responsible for the total process of reconfiguring finished goods to meet retail customer requirements while ensuring accuracy and on-time shipments in the most cost-effective manner. Responsible for motivation, communication and training of associates. May be responsible for coordinating DC receiving and inbound supply receipts, processing returned goods and/or ensuring correct credit is given to customers.

 

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Directs and coordinates department activities with the assistance of subordinate supervisors.  Assigns/delegates work responsibilities, provides instructions, prepares schedules and sets deadlines.  Resolves issues as they arise.
  • Plans department activities and monitors the status of work in progress by consulting with department supervisors and annalyzing reports, records and directives.  This includes coordination with other departments to ensure efficiency.
  • Monitors and analyzes costs and prepares budget recommendations for plant manager.
  • Develops and completes management reporting on department activities.
  • Evaluates current procedures and practices to develop and implement process improvements.

 

Required Experience

5+ years of distribution/logistics/rework work experience

 

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience; professional certification in inventory management or distribution management is a plus.
Solid understanding of inventory control, order make-up and retail operations.
Must have a strong background in automated inventory control management systems and integration processes. Solid Microsoft Office skills.
